EmergeAZ Grant FAQ's
What is the EmergeAZ Fast Grant?
EmergeAZ was developed in partnership with the Arizona Governor's Office, invisionAZ and StartupAZ Foundation to equip innovative startups with additional capital and support as they navigate and emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic.
What is the grant funding criteria?
Eligible startups must be Arizona based, have five or more employees, have been in business at least 12 months, and must be in-revenue. The grant is specifically designed to identify startups with emerging technologies designed to address the current economic, health, or societal challenges brought on by the pandemic.
*Business that received funding from EmergeAZ Round I are not eleigble for Round II.
What is the grant funding amount?
A total of $1.5 million has been allocated to the grant fund with anticipated grant awards of $25,000 - $50,000. Award amounts will depend on applicant quality, impact, projected outcome, and funding requested.
When will awards be announced?
EmergeAZ review committee will award grants on a rolling basis until the fund is fully administered. All grants have been awarded for Rounds 1 and 2.
I've applied, who can I contact about my application?
All applications will be reviewed as they are received and applicants will be notified within 30 days. Due to the anticipated demand, status inquiries may not be responded to.
What are the grant reporting requirements?
EmergeAZ grant awardees will be required to complete quarterly performance reports for the 12-month period post grant funding. Reporting includes revenue, headcount, new funding (investments, grants, etc.), and general product/business updates.
In addition to the grant capital, what other support is available to my startup after funding?
Peer mentorship and access to additional business related services and support is available as needed.
